Cantina del Barrio sprang to life fuelled by a simple joy: our founders, Will and Andrew, always felt their happiest when stepping into the warm, vibrant embrace of Mexican restaurants during their travels across the UK. With Mexican ingredients now a lot more accessable, it sparked a dream to bringthese flavours to Cheltenham.

And so, Cantina del Barrio was born—a cosy, community-centric spot nestled on the lively Bath Road, where we dish out an exciting blend of Mexican and Latin American flavours in a setting that's all about fun, friendship & family.

Our menu is a playful mix of the old and the new, featuring inventive twists on Latin American favourites. The heart of our restaurant is TACOS but we didn't stop there; we've also introduced a variety of Mexican and Latin American small plates to introduce our guests to something different.

Behind the scenes, our amazing Chef Nardy works her magic, combining the freshest local produce with authentic ingredients sourced directly from Mexico. Nardy, who comes from a Latino background, has been immersed in this cuisine from a young age, giving her the perfect palate to blend tradition with a touch of innovation.

Will and Andrew Coates, our enthusiastic founders (and no, they're not related—surprising, right?), have poured their passion for top-notch food and drink into Cantina del Barrio. It's been a dream in the making, and their thrilled to share this dream with such a warm and welcoming community. "Cantina del Barrio has been a long time coming, and we couldn't be prouder to set our roots in such a fantastic, community-oriented place," says Andrew Coates.
